Gwynevere Wool

Gwynevere’s wool has bold waves and is an absolute blast to spin. It was coated over the winter so there is hardly any vm or dirt making it easy to hand wash. Well defined 5 inch locks make it easy to spin from the lock. The wool is on the fine end of medium and makes a great pair of socks.

Gwynevere is Tamora’s twin sister and is a Sabriel sheep. Sabriel sheep have fine/medium wool that comes in white or naturally colored. They are bred specifically for hand spinning wool with easy to wash fleeces that have well defined locks and bold crimps. The locks should have minimal cross fibers and well defined but easy to open tips making it easy to spin from the lock or card.  Here on Mae Be Farm we handspin every fleece we produce and only register the sheep that have the best handspinning fleeces.
